600...

600 Images, 60 Artists, 6 Cities, 6 Curators. A web of thin steel cables wrap the gallery, stretched across windows, walls, and furniture, occasionally defining a free-standing plane, making display surfaces where there were none. At critical points where wires split, join, turn corners, and descend stairs, the exhibition's infrastructure is celebrated by an orgy of turnbuckles, hooks, clamps and silvery angular lines. Elsewhere, the cables recede visually; the photographs delicately clipped to them take the foreground. All 600 images are connected tangibly to each other, a reminder that the 60 projects that make up the exhibition are components in a larger exercise of international exchange.
