aTypical Shophouse 2

Floor two of thingsmatter 's ongoing redefinition of a typical shophouse. An existing stair leaves the usable space narrow in the back bay. Placing the bathroom and kitchen here, and configuring them so they can be open most of the time, allows floor-through ventilation and illumination. A "black box" in the center bay closes to create an air-conditionable bedroom, protected from the street noise and lit by porthole lenses onto an adjacent garden.
